The saxophone is often described as the closest instrument to the human voice, and this recital draws on works influenced by the choral tradition. Ranging from transcriptions of Renaissance masterpieces through to contemporary soundscapes, the programme immerses the listener in music written to exploit the majesty of the remarkable acoustic of St John’s.

To continue their involvement at the wonderful St Magnus International Festival, KSQ perform at Hoy Church in the Orkney Isles.

A remote but beautiful island, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies spent many years on Hoy, writing 'Lullaby for Lucy' for the first baby to be born in Rackwick for 32 years.

Perth premiere of Debussy tribute piece

Perth Saxophonist Mia Vukovic will give the Australian premiere of 'The Submerged Cathedral' - a tribute piece by Jenni to Debussy's work of the same name ('La engloutie cathedrale'), following Jenni & Martin's world premiere at the World Saxophone Congress (Zagreb) in July 2018.

Jenni will be performing in 4 recitals as part of this prestigious international Saxophone event - a solo recital, a duo recital, a quartet recital, and as part of Andy Scott's Tenor Saxophone Collective (12 International Tenor Saxophones, original music). She has also been commissioned to write a new work for Tenor Sax & Piano for Sydney Selmer & Silverstein artist Nathan Henshaw.
